GIS Planning is thrilled to be part of the launch of the Junction City/Geary County Economic Development Commission's new website, with ZoomProspector, the industry's leading interactive GIS data tool, designed to serve as a primary resource for the region's business recruitment, expansion and retention.
The new economic development website is devoted to supporting and growing the business community, with a strong focus on Industrial development of Junction City/Geary County through information, research, and training.
The website provides data including, but not limited to, economic indicators, business resources, commercial site availability, new business startup guide, demographics, and key industries. Links to local resources and business associations are included.
"A strong presence on the web is vital to supporting our local economic development efforts. If we don’t put information and data out there to be viewed by interested parties, we are missing opportunities,” says Pat Landes, mayor of Junction City.
Mark Powers, 2019 EDC Chairman, agrees wholeheartedly. “Economic Development is an unbelievably competitive business," he explains. "In order to be noticed in this forest of possibilities our EDC needs to have the right tools. A strong, data-driven website is one of those tools. We at the Junction City – Geary County EDC are very excited to be rolling out our new website! This helps keep us in the race for new development and investments.”
The engaging new website, built by Golden Shovel Agency, puts all the key data investors need to choose Junction City/Geary County front and center.
The user-friendly, interactive data tool is powered by GIS Planning's ZoomProspector software, which ensures that businesses making location decisions can view available commercial sites and buildings and research critical demographic, workforce, consumer spending, talent, and business data.
“There are many tools to use in the Economic Development industry, but a solid, easy to navigate website with up to date data is one of the best. Junction City First is very encouraged by the new EDC website to help with our efforts," says Leon Osbourn, 2019 Chair, Junction City First Development Group.
The website will serve as an online nexus for business opportunities and workforce development within Junction City/Geary County. Whether a new business is looking to relocate to the area or an existing business is ready to grow and expand, this innovative online data tool provides the necessary information to propel each business to success.
