New! Talent pool added for Canada

Canadian economic development organizations will be delighted to see that we've added a new Talent Pool report to all ZoomProspector location analysis tools and Intelligence Components. This report enables Canadian cities, counties, regions and provinces to provide critical workforce data for research and analysis to site selectors and businesses making location decisions.

The new Talent Pool report is based on Statistics Canada. It tracks university programs and degrees conferred, as well as trade and vocational school programs. Users can search up to 100 km to research the locations of top school universities, colleges, trade and vocational schools. The graphic at the top allows website visitors to toggle between Degrees and Trades and view the top 5 programs for each, as you can see in the City of Ottawa ZoomProspector on the right.

Below that, users can drill down into a table showing the certifications earned. The degrees table has columns for graduates, bachelor, master and Ph.D. programs, which can be further analyzed. Click on the arrows next to the categories to delve deeper into the different programs; click one more time on program names to see which universities and colleges offer them. Check out the report from the Stony Plain, AB ZoomProspector, showcasing how you can drill down to see which universities have conferred different degrees in different programs. This valuable talent data helps site selectors and potential investors fill in important gaps about workforce so they can make decisions about optimal business locations. This data has been available to our US clients for a number of years and we are thrilled to now be able to offer it across Canada as well.
