We've had a super busy start to our fall webinar line-up! More than 800 people signed up for our recent webinar offerings, on subjects from rural economic development to supporting small businesses and so much more. If you missed any of these recent webinars, you are in luck! We recorded all of them and invite you to review those videos at your convenience.

The GIS Planning team deeply appreciates the many guests who gave generously of their time to appear on our panel presentations, sharing perspectives and practical advice from their work as site selectors, economic developers, chamber of commerce directors and place marketing experts. It's the trust and contributions of people like them that have helped us remain the most innovative GIS data software for economic development for 25 years.

Here's a round-up of links to these popular titles:

Small but powerful: Supporting the small businesses in your community. This webinar featured Jeffrey Seymour, CEcD., executive VP of economic development for the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce (check out their business-focused OKC Rescue Program microsite), Ryan Coleman, CEcD. economic development director of the City of Columbia Economic Development (SC) (check out this page focused on new business-friendly initiatives), and Annie Colarusso, director of partnerships at withco.

Rethinking rural economic developmentThis presentation brought together experts from across the US and Canada to discuss issues of importance to rural economic developers, long a core part of GIS Planning clients: Terry Burroughs, CEcD., board chair at FHERO and president of the Chamber of Commerce of Okeechobee County (FL), Andrea Schruijer, CEcD., executive directive of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority, Rayna Teicheira, economic development director at the City of Navasota (TX), and Dale Wheeldon, president and CEO of the British Columbia Economic Development Association.

In this webinar, we offered an overview of this powerful, interactive web tool and its many features. We will showcase practical examples from our many clients on how to harness its power to attract investment, engage site selectors, take advantage of virtual tours, offer market intelligence to your businesses, and much more.

What's coming up next? Back by popular demand, we're pleased to offer an updated version of this popular title from last winter: How to source killer content for economic development marketing (Oct. 20th, 1:30 p.m. EDT/ 10:30 am PDT). Personalize your region and the people and organizations that make it so great. After all, economic development marketing does NOT have to be synonymous with boring.
