Ah, social media. The golden child of online marketing can be hard to control. Is it the bane of your productivity or a powerful lead generator? A massive time suck or a source of actionable intelligence? A sinkhole of words and images shouted into the wind, or marvellous tool for SEO?
The choice, dear economic developer, is yours.
While lots of people talk a good game about social media marketing, not everyone seems to be doing it effectively. And some don't do it all. You have surely seen the social media gurus and social media wizards and all kinds of marketing experts out there dispensing advice, but at the end of the day, most economic developers wants some good practical advice on a few strategies they can make work. Because economic developers are busy people, and often wear many hats. Not every economic development organization has a communications team to take this on, and even those who do are often making some mistakes.
Now, I don't claim guru or wizard status, but my experience as both a university professor and marketing consultant to our clients have convinced me that if you give people some clear, level-headed direction and practical advice, you will see results. Join me on Tuesday, May 31st (2 - 2:30 p.m. EDT/ 11- 11:30 a.m. PDT) for a free, 30-minute webinar in which I will highlight 5 social media strategies economic developers.
